AP Literature & Composition 12*: This advanced course is designed to prepare college-bound seniors for the English Literature 12, AP test. The class will be based on the study of literature with extensive assignments in critical reading, preparing students for college-level critical reading and literary analysis. Students will write intensively, focusing on critical, analytical essays related to the literature they are studying. They will write frequently in class, sharpening their abilities to respond to the types of essay questions they will face on the AP exam and as college students in timed writing situations. Note: This course is designed for highly motivated students who are responsible enough to handle rigorous reading and writing assignments on a daily basis, and over the summer and intersession*. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Rose @ KRose@egusd.net

Make sure you arrive early, as the Golden 1 Center mandates that all attendees walk through metal detectors. There are no exceptions to this rule and it is at the directive of the Golden 1 Center.

You cannot bring in Confetti, Noise Makers, Balloons, Food, Alcohol, etc. These are Golden 1 Center rules and they can remove you for violated them.

Caps and Gowns cannot be decorated or added to. This means no bedazzling, painting, drawing, etc., on your cap/gowns. You may wear honor cords/stoles/school honor medals given at a district event (Senior Awards Night) or an ALREADY APPROVED Item of Personal Expression that was submitted to your Vice Principal by the due date. The district will have you remove any items not conforming to the dress code.

A FINAL reminder students should not bring: Confetti, Poppers, Balloons, Drugs, Alcohol, Purses, Yearbooks, Chewing Gum, Flowers/Leis, Money Necklaces, Ball Caps, etc. If you have any of these items that have not been previously approved when walking in the door, they will be confiscated and not returned.  There are no exceptions no matter what the confiscated item is.
